God has spoken many words, but Jesus is his final Word. God has many angels, but Jesus is worshiped by angels. Jesus is unique, supreme over every person on earth and every angel in heaven. He is the Father's one and only Son.

"I believe in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary" (Apostles Creed). Before the Son became a baby in Mary's womb, he was God from all eternity. And even after becoming human, Jesus remains God as well as man. A pregnant virgin is a great miracle, but an even greater miracle is that her Child is both divine and human.

Jesus shows in human form what God the Father is like. As Jesus himself put it, "He who has seen me has seen the Father" (John 14:9). Like Father, like Son: "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being." To know what God the Father is like, look at Jesus and listen to him. He is the one and only way to know God as he truly is.

Jesus is also the one and only way to have eternal life with God. "God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son does not have life" (1 John 5:11-12). What more could God give than his one and only Son? Receive him and rejoice in him!
